Dancing with the Starts (DWTS) has been featured in our homes for years now and if you have never seen a episode or a season you must not have a tv or internet access. I started watching the show a few seasons back and just have been a fan ever since.
Following her dreams, Lindsay moved to Los Angeles, from the Midwest and since then Lindsay has been the finalist on “So You Think you can Dance” in 2012.Lindsay then landed DWTS season sixteen as a professional dancer.

I had the pleasure of interview DWTS Pro Lindsay Arnold who was in the final 3 with her partner National Guard hero Alex Skarlatos for season 21.
You made it to the finals!!! What was going through your mind during that time?
Lindsay: Making it to the finale was so rewarding for me as a dancer. I have watched DWTS since season one and I remember always wishing and hoping that could be me someday and having that dream come true was honestly so surreal. All night I was overwhelmed with so many feelings but the one I felt the most was, grateful. I am so grateful for the opportunity I had this season to be paired with Alek and to make a lifelong dream and goal become a reality. Would you say that your goals for the recent season were met? Lindsay: I can definitely say that my goals for this past season were met. If you asked me day one of rehearsals with Alek if I thought we were going to make the finale my answer would be a no haha! With that being said it didn’t mean I wasn’t going to do everything I could to make it happen. My goal this past season was honestly just to take it one week at a time and to make Aleks experience on the show something he will remember forever. I feel like we both had an amazing season together and learned a lot from each other.
Are you natural into working out or does it just come naturally due to the fact that your are a dancer? Lindsay: Being a dancer definitely helps me stay physically fit but dance isn’t the only thing that keeps me in shape. I have been working on my food choice lately and have noticed a huge difference. What I have found that works for me is to eat smaller portions but more frequently throughout the day. It helps me maintain energy through long rehearsal days and keeps me from indulging in any cravings. What leg work outs would you recommend? Lindsay: I don’t have one favorite leg workout but when I want to improve my legs I love doing Pilates. There are a lot of leg workouts you can do on a Pilates reformer that have always given me my best results. What is one word of advice would you give to someone who wants to be where you are now, professionally, at this moment. Lindsay: The best advice I can give to anyone looking to achieve their dreams and goals is to never give up. It sounds so cliche but it is true, I have seen and truly believe that if you want something and put everything you can into that thing that it will come to you. Believe that you can do it and don’t doubt yourself. Photo credit by (ABC) |
